Aims
After completing this course, the student can:
  1. Perform error analysis for experiments, involving e.g. possible errors, statistical errors, standard deviation and standard deviation of the mean, confidence intervals, error propagation, and data linearization in combination with least squares fitting.
  2. Apply basic commands and structures of a programming language (MATLAB).
  3. Analyse simple problems (e.g. data processing, error analysis), design algorithms to solve these and implement the algorithms in MATLAB programs and evaluate for correct execution.
Content
Error analysis and programming are essential skills for researchers and engineers. By working on a series of assignments students develop these skills in a tutorial setting.
