Students learn to be more receptive to minority groups, to reflect on cross-cultural perspectives and to consider the impact of design decisions on society. Following completion of this unit, students can critically analyse design and technology projects from the perspective of diverse experiences (class, nationality, race, gender, ability, age, intersectional).

How do students respond to diversity when undertaking design and technology projects? Social biases are introduced at the design stage, often directed by people who are unlike the end-users. This course introduces students to the skills required to connect with the diverse perspectives of possible end-users.
Manual enrollment via Osiris is only for Creative Technology students. If you want to enroll, please contact K. Zalewska (k.zalewska-kurek@utwente.nl).
