The educational underpinning of the study tour itself is understanding and appreciating the cultures and histories of the host countries, not just in cultural trips but also in how this is reflected in the various companies which will be visited. But a secondary focus is on effective communication across language and cultural barriers, as the active role of participants will be promoted in the visits.

In preparation for the Study Tour, participants will research various companies which will be visited. They will summarize their findings in a preliminary version of their Company Reports, which has to be submitted before the start of the tour. During the trip, participants will also write Day Reports, which will be provided with feedback by the supervisors joining the trip.
