Inhoud
This is an interdisciplinary course on AI and its challenges from the perspectives of economy, ethics, computer science, and law for students from various disciplines, and coming from different countries, at the level of MA and PhD.
Three universities collaborate in this special course format: the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster, Germany, the University of Twente, Netherlands, and the Leiden University, Netherlands. Both the teachers and the students will come from all participating universities, from various faculties and represent different disciplines.
The course will combine synchronous teaching (5 classes) with group work of the students. The group work will include writing a paper on an intersectional question of AI and one of the disciplines, and a video presentation of the paper. The group work process relies heavily on the peers sharing their knowledge of the various disciplines, supported by the teachers through consultations.
The number of students expected to enroll is 12-24 students per course.

Exemplary topics that will be addressed by teachers and/or students during lecture and group work:
  • Introduction in AI
  • Human Rights
  • Enterprising with AI
  • Future of AI in Europe
  • Human Rights Implications of AI Technologies
    • Facial Recognition / Surveillance / Data Protection
    • AI & Human Interaction
    • AI Decision Making / Recommendations
The course is taught as virtual course (via Zoom / video).
