Application procedureYou apply via OSIRIS Student
Registration using OSIRISYes
Aims
At the end of this study unit, the student is able to:
  1. Use theory about sending and modeling information and digital signal processing to build working applications,
  2. Understand mathematical concepts for modeling systems and use these to design and realize creative application.
Content
Sounds and Circuits gives an introduction to (1) sound engineering and digital music, and (2) electrical circuits. The course serves multiple purposes: to introduce students in an early phase to the physical side of creative technology (hardware in the form of electric circuits and electronics); operationalize the mathematics of this module in real physical systems and settings; provide both a theoretical and practical base for the physical systems course in module 3 and the Sound Engineering course in module 5B.

Introduction to Mathematics and Modelling provides the students with basic mathematical skills.

Manual enrollment for this module via Osiris is only for Creative Technology students. If you want to take this module as a minor, register for the minor during the minor registration period. If you do not wish to take this module as a minor and are not a Create student, please contact K. Zalewska (k.zalewska-kurek@utwente.nl).
Assumed previous knowledge
If mathematics or physics knowledge at an elementary level is lacking, the student should follow the math or physics build-up course as a challenge for Professional Development.
