After completing the course, the student:
  1. Has knowledge of fundamental concepts, theories, practices, and governance/regulatory issues regarding sustainability and other related social issues caused or related by technological digitalization
  2. Has the ability to analyse the social impacts of a new and emerging technology and can suggest regulatory options and other social/political solutions
Inhoud
This course assesses sustainability and other related social impacts (i.e., privacy, equity, security, safety, democracy) of new and emerging technologies, largely focusing on infrastructural transitions. This course includes the discussions on the development, implementation, and assessment of digitalization, relevant stakeholders and their role in digitalization processes, new policies and regulations relevant to digitalization processes, and assessments of future outlook.

The digitalization processes that this course will focus on include energy innovation, automation of transportation, big data and data management, health technologies, and smart agriculture.
