The study unit will start with a kick-off session. The concept of sustainable development, the required transition towards sustainable development and the role of organizations and their employees in this transition will be illustrated with case studies and explained using theories stemming from sustainability strategy development, organizational behaviour and change management. Students will be expected to work on their group assignment, where they analyze and discuss a selected case study. Tutorials will be provided for guidance.
Students will also take part in workshops on organizational change and personal leadership development. Guest speakers will illustrate the practice of the sustainability transition and the challenges involved in implementation. Students will be assessed individually on the theoretical concepts offered in this block. Additionally, all students are asked to reflect on their personal leadership development and how they can mobilise themselves and others to effectively realize the sustainability transition.
