At the end of the study unit, students will be able to (between brackets the number of the corresponding intended learning qualification of the programme):
  1. review the existing literature on a selected topic and identify at least 15 relevant scientific articles to include in a narrative literature review (1.3, 2.2, 5.1);
  2. synthesize these articles into a narrative literature review, which provides background information about their research project (1.3, 2.2, 5.1);
  3. create and give a workshop to engage others with the outcomes and managerial recommendations of their research project (3.3, 4.1, 4.2, 6.3).
In this study unit, students learn how to write an academic literature review (6S1). A literature review is an objective and thorough overview of relevant and current research literature on a topic being studied. In this case, the topic relates to the impact of technological change on organizations. This writing assignment is an individual assignment. The literature that is discussed in the theory study unit serves as relevant input for this writing assignment. At the same time, the literature review can be used as a starting point for the consultancy report. Besides that, students learn how to develop and give a professional workshop (6S2). In this workshop, the findings of the consultancy report are interactively presented and participants (fellow students) can practice with knowledge and skills regarding the topic of the research.

This study unit is part of the Communication science module Lead the change. Because the four study units, which are part of the module, are highly related to each other it is not possible to follow this study unit separately.
