The lecture will give an overview on different synthetic methods used in Polymer Chemistry. Basic knowledge of Organic chemistry is required for the course and will be used to explain the synthetic strategies to high molar mass materials. After the course, students will be well prepared to plan syntheses of thermoplasts, thermosets, nanoparticles, block copolymers by classical and state-of-the-art synthesis strategies. The lectures will be accompanied by some live experiments and data will be correlated to polymer characterization techniques (e.g. Gel Permeation Chromatography/ mass spectrometry of polymers, etc.)
