RemarksThis module component needs to be followed in parallel with (or after passing of) the component Stochastic Models.
Application procedureYou apply via OSIRIS Student
Registration using OSIRISYes
Aims
After successful completion of this module component, the student is able to:
  1. select appropriate models and methods (from those provided in the Stochastic Models component) that are relevant to given practical problems that are too large to solve by hand;
  2. analyze these problems by implementing the selected models and methods in computer code to draw conclusions about the behavior of the system.
Content
In the module component Project Stochastic Models, which builds on the Stochastic Models component, students learn to apply stochastic dynamic programming and queueing theory to solve large problems that cannot be solved by hand. Mathematical modelling as well as implementation in a computer are the main ingredients.
