Cursusdoelen
At the end of the course, students will have learnt how to:
  1. Develop a strong consulting company philosophy, including mission, name, and values, grounded in the (prescribed) course literature;
  2. Conduct an intake-interview with a potential client about his/her needs to acquire a consulting project;
  3. Orally pitch a project proposal to a potential client so that he/she not only understands your approach but is also triggered by it;
  4. Write a feasible, clear and convincing project proposal, built around the intake interview with the client, and based on relevant theoretical models and innovative consulting/coaching techniques (with a chance of “winning” the deal).
  5. Reflect on your own development, including noting down actionable personal-level learning goals which can be used to coach you during the final Processes of Change quartile.
Inhoud
The fifth Processes of Change (PoC) course deals with what it is like to be a consultant and what it feels like to be coached. To achieve change at the individual, team- and organizational level, consulting and coaching skills are paramount. Nowadays, many organizations are being supported by consultants and coaches (both in-company and external). There are different types of consultants (advisory, or strategy-building, or implementation-oriented) and coaches, with a continuously increasing number of new labels. You will learn various theoretical and practical perspectives on consulting; and will even start your own consultancy firm. In your newly founded firm, you will experience what it is like to be a management consultant and you will use your new skills to develop a viable consulting project proposal for a real-life client. Effective consultancy also requires getting to know yourself as an ‘instrument’ for change. Hence, you will formulate personal developmental goals and work on achieving these goals with a professional UT coach.
