Inhoud
In this fourth PoC course we address various settings in which leadership can emerge and/or is needed. Students will learn -in groups and individually- about the foundations and appearances of (personal) leadership and learn how explore and develop their own leadership.
Key questions that are leading in the ELiO course, are for example: What is (effective) leadership and what is an (effective) leader? (Why and when) is leadership needed? (How) can leadership be developed? (How) can I develop my ‘leadership’? What is the relationship between leadership(style) and context? (How) are individual and leadership characteristics related?
The ELiO course floats on three interrelating ‘streams’ in which students Explore, Experience, & Execute’ their knowledge, feelings, reflexes, attitudes and behaviour relating the concept of leadership. This is facilitated through guidance of and feedback from fellow students, the lead teacher (an experienced and certified executive (leadership) coach, trainer and scholar) and several distinguished quest lecturers from various industries.
EliO’s overarching goal is to help ignite and/or fuel the process of ‘Disguise, Develop and Deploy’ the ‘leader’ in each and every of our participating Honours students, and to enable her or his effectiveness as a person and the professional she or he is and is becoming, on our campus and beyond.
