Aims
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
  • Use the knowledge provided in the literature and (guest-) lectures to legitimise the choices in the self-designed change intervention;
  • Design and execute a change intervention to persuade a target audience to change their individual behaviour with measurable effects;
  • Reflect on the effectiveness of your change intervention and pinpoint what went well and what you would do differently next time based on your target audience’s responses;
  • Reflect on how you consciously used your own communication skills to enhance your group’s productivity.
Content
The second Processes of Change course deals with change processes that occur at the individual level. During this course, we will approach change from a psychological angle. Think of questions like: How can individuals change their (patterns of) behaviour(s)? How can you yourself change patterns? Additionally, we will also focus on you as a person: what do you bring to the table and how can you use your strengths to benefit the team you are working in? How do you come across while presenting? A professional presentation coach will provide you with feedback on your presentation skills. You will use your newly acquired theoretical and applied knowledge from guest lecturers to design and conduct a real change intervention. The aim of the change intervention is to change the actual behaviour of a self-chosen target audience. When preparing the change intervention, you can ask for help from an expert of your choosing. By designing and executing the change intervention, you will apply what you have learnt, thereby successfully triggering individual changes in others and in yourself.
