After passing this course, students:
- can generate and interpret descriptive statistics, both numerically and graphically
- know elementary probability theory and can apply this theory to model problems and compute (conditional) probabilities as well as expectations and variance of random variables
- recognize which probability distribution (Bernoulli, binomial, uniform, normal, exponential) to apply in practical situations
- are able to give estimates and confidence intervals for unknown population means or population proportions, and
- can apply hypothesis testing for one-sample-problems under normal distributions.
