After module 12, the student is able to:
1. Acquire, select and process scientific information for research, whereby the student makes adequate use of the concepts and theories from the field that are in line with the latest developments. References are displayed in Endnote (or comparable program) according to scientific format.
2. Conduct chemical engineering research at bachelor's level. He / she has the knowledge and the skills to conduct scientific research in a systematic way, consisting of: problem analysis, formulation of research objective, theoretical and experimental approach, implementation and result analysis. He / she makes substantiated choices in the implementation of the research.
3. To organize and plan an investigation efficiently, from problem analysis to feedback.
4. Demonstrate a degree of independence in the preparation and conduct of a research project and adopt a scientifically critical attitude to work.
5. To function professionally: to communicate clearly with the supervisor, to cooperate in the research group and communicate with others within and outside the Chemical Science and Engineering community.
6. Report adequately in writing on research (report substantively structured in clear and correct language)
7. To present the research adequately orally and to discuss it in front of fellow students and colleagues. (Presentation: substantively structured, clear explanation, supported by tools)
8. Pay attention to the social context, the possible safety and environmental implications and the scientific and ethical aspects in the assessment of the results.

The bachelor assignment is an individual assignment that forms the final part of the bachelor's program. In this module, students show what they have learned at the end of the bachelor's program. The level of the assignment is in line with the final attainment levels of the bachelor's program and the courses taken up to that point.
The main goal is to learn to conduct research under supervision, based on a defined research question according to a suitable research methodology. It is the first time in the program that a student individually conducts a larger (but limited) research and reports on it in writing and orally. In addition to the scientific content, it is important that the student shows purposeful and systematic work, and a critical attitude. The final mark is therefore determined for 50% by content components and for 50% by general academic skills such as communication, collaboration and work attitude.
The assignment covers a period of 10 weeks full-time (8 hours a day) and is carried out at one of the chemical-technological groups under the supervision of a daily supervisor and under the responsibility of a bachelor assignment committee. The committee determines the final mark.
