Aims
Industrial Chemistry and Processes:
  • Have knowledge of the oil industry.
  • To have knowledge of the other bulk chemical process industry.
  • Have knowledge of electro-chemical processes.
  • Have knowledge of fine chemical processes.
  • Can indicate how catalysts influence chemical process management

Sustainable Industrial Chemistry Project:
  • Analysis of a process, elaboration of the individual process elements
  • Setup Energy and mass balances for the processes
  • Prepare a SELCA of the processes
  • comparing the processes on the basis of SELCA, and suggest possible improvements
  • Conclusions
  • Reporting
Content
In Industrial Chemistry & Processes we will study the most important industrial processes and products, while paying attention to the scale, feed-streams and process flow diagrams, catalysis, separations and selectivity.
In the project Sustainable Industrial Chemistry, we will work in groups to study a process in detail in order to answer the question if the process can be made (even) more sustainable.
