  1. Being able to analyse a scientific problem and translate it into research questions. Being able to make an error analysis.
  2. Being able to systematically set up and conduct a scientific study
  3. Develop experimental skills such as the handling of equipment, use of equipment documentation, the use of a computer to control the set-up or the collection of measurement data. Being able to work safely and environmentally conscious.
  4. Being able to process and interpret measurement results and draw conclusions from them.
The lab course gives an introduction to conducting scientific research and builds on the lab courses of modules 1 and 2. Basic skills such as keeping a journal, error analysis, data processing (using Matlab) and safe and environmentally conscious working are assumed to be familiar, so that the emphasis can be more on the experiments themselves. The experiments, which are in the field of materials science, are more extensive and complex.
