Module description
In Fluid Physics the statics and (in particular!) dynamics of flowing media like gases and liquids are described using the density, flow and temperature fields. As such, Fluid Physics is a classical field theory and has close connections to those physics subjects that constitute the foundation of these field theories, like classical mechanics, and other classical field theories, electrodynamics. Mathematically, it is connected directly to partial differential equations, with emphasis on the numerical solution thereof, given the importance of numerical simulations to the field. These are the subjects that will be covered in Module 8.
