- Knowledge of and skills to use the basic and intermediate level features of the MS Excel spreadsheet software, covering topics like: tables, pivot tables, graphs, formula manipulation, worksheet layout and (conditional) formatting, proposition logic in formulas, use of basic Excel formulas for data retrieval and manipulation.
- Basic programming skills using the VBA for Excel programming language, covering topics like: building and running macros, debugging, building subs and functions, local and global variable declaration, loops (for, while, repeat), proposition logic (if then else), Excel worksheet data manipulation (input and output)

This course introduces the student into the MS Excel spreadsheet software. The learning objectives cover the features and skills that could be considered a basic requirement for any student in an engineering program like Industrial Engineering & Management. Additionally, this course is a basic introduction into programming, using the VBA for Excel programming language. The learning goals are sufficient to prepare students for more advanced programming (languages), as typically encountered in the MSc stage of engineering programs. This course is a pre-master course for the IE&M program. Upon request with the lecturer, the course may be performed in another period than the one indicated in this form.
