Aims
After successful completion of this module component, the student is able to:
  1. communicate and collaborate with students from different educational backgrounds;
  2. select appropriate modelling tools (from the set of tools provided in this module) for a large real-life problem, and use them to model and solve the problem;
  3. interpret the outcomes of the before mentioned tools and formulate practical recommendations for system improvement;
  4. inform and convince the problem owner by means of a report and presentation.
Content
In the module component Multidisciplinary Project, students work together in a relatively large project group with students from various educational backgrounds. For a complex stochastic problem, students learn to select the appropriate techniques (as considered in all the other components of this module for all involved study programs), to use those to analyse the problem and to interpret the results, and to formulate recommendations to solve the problem.

As of 2022/2023, this module component has been replaced with 202200346 – Project MASP. Students who need to retake all project parts (202000426, 202000428, 202000429) have to take this new project and do not have to enrol for the old projects. Students who have to retake one or two of the project parts, please send an email to modulesupport-iem-bms@utwente.nl
Assumed previous knowledge
This Multidisciplinary Project is indicated as block 3 of the corresponding module and takes place during the last two weeks of the module. Before this, we have four other module components grouped in blocks 1 and 2. To participate in this Multidisciplinary Project, a serious effort in both block 1 and block 2 of this module is required. The precise details can be found in the module manual.
