Aims

At the end of the module a student
  1. can critically interview an IEM alumnus to obtain a clear view on the work field of an IEM engineer and the professional skills you need as a manager;
  2. make and adapt a realistic time planning;
  3. has insight in his/her strong and weak points in leading a group; and
  4. has insight in the basic ideas of lean management.
Content
After becoming aware of your strengths and weaknesses in Module 1, the second step towards becoming an SDL is becoming critical on what you ask and hear, and on how you work in a group.

We focus this module on  interviewing skills, on time management, and on being a project manager.
A limited number of lectures and workshops is scheduled. The workshops are mandatory.
After each workshop you write down for yourself what the outcomes mean or what you learned and what that means for your development. You are not always asked to hand in these notes, but you need them when you write a reflection report at the end of the module on what you learned about topics like e.g. time management, conducting an interview, and lean management. The reflection you hand in at the end of Module 2 is input for the oral exam in the last week.
