Aims
At the end of the module a student:
  1. can analyse the effectiveness of different operations strategies and link these strategies to internal performance measurements;
  2. is able to formulate LP- and ILP- models for appropriate problems and is able to solve an (I)LP- model using a computer package and to analyse the computer output;
  3. can apply (simple) planning techniques to solve material planning and capacity problems;
  4. can apply (simple) quantitative techniques for inventory optimization in case demand is deterministic as well as stochastic.
.
Content
In this study unit students work together in project groups and apply several qualitative and quantitative methods discussed in the OR and OS study units to a number of cases. The content of the cases might change yearly, but each year one of the assignments is about  MRP and another one about  LP/ILP modelling.
Assumed previous knowledge
In this project theory discussed in the OR and OS study units is applied . So, it is needed to take these units at the same time (or before).
