After completing the project the student is able to:
  • formulate learning goals and to make reasoned choices for instructional design theories to reach these goals
  • transform goals and theories systematically into a design and prototype of an interactive learning environment
  • cope with the difficulties in management of, and communication within a cooperative design project

In the final part of this module Psychology in Learning and Instruction, you will work in a small group on an instructional design project. Following the first steps of the ADDIE Instructional Design model Gustafson & Branch, 2002), you will analyze the topic and target group, set learning objectives, and design and develop learning material or a learning environment. The design and development phase, in particular, enable you to apply the knowledge you have acquired throughout this module in an authentic instructional design problem.

Assumed previous knowledge
At least 9 EC of module 1 have been obtained OR at least 21 EC of modules 1 and 2 have been obtained. This prerequisite applies to all study units within this module.
