Course Description
The student proves that (s)he has attained the learning outcomes of the MSc programme, in more detail:
- Broad and profound knowledge of the basic engineering sciences (mathematics and applied physics) and the competence to apply these at an advanced level within one of the mechanical engineering sub disciplines;
- Broad and profound technical scientific knowledge and understanding of one mechanical engineering disciplines and the skills to use this knowledge effectively;
- Knowledge of methods, paradigms and tools to analyse, interpret, model, simulate design and perform experiments and research;
- Capability to contribute to the solution of technological problems by a systematic approach involving analysis, formulating sub problems, providing innovative solutions, evaluating the feasibility and the final elaboration;
- Capability of working both independently and in (multidisciplinary) teams, taking initiatives whenever necessary, identifying and acquiring lacking expertise;
- The attitude and ability to maintain and improve academic and professional competence (life-long-learning);
- Capability to effectively communicate with professionals from within as well as outside the domain of specialization;
- Capability and attitude for evaluating technological, societal and ethical impact of his/her work, and taking responsibility with regard to sustainability, economy and social welfare;
