Aims
Acquiring (knowing/having) an up to date impression of current research, development areas, novel technologies, and main challenges, related to the development of sustainable technologies, reduced use of material resources and environmental impact, sustainable energy production, energy storage and harvesting, flow optimization, both experimental as well as in modeling and simulation, with different scales ranging from industrial down to nano/micro. Acquiring in-depth knowledge of a particular technology/application. Further development of technical paper/report writing skills and research skills.  Deep literature study skill with condensation of results in report. Further development of captivating presentation/TechTalk skills.
Content
The course involves a series of (guest) lectures from researchers and engineers in academia, technological institutes, and industry (large scale industry, or innovative startup) in which different themes, developments and perspectives will be presented.  These lectures  also reflect the research activities in the energy and flow area at the university of Twente. The course provides an excellent preparation for a MSc. assignment. Attendance of these lectures is mandatory. Themes and lecturers will vary from year to year.
The students will select one particular topic for which they will carry out a more detailed study, write a technical paper present the results to the others
