Guest lecturers from different areas within the field of personal health technology will give an insight in both their field of work and/or research and their personal career path in academia, industry, and/or starting their own business. After the course, the student will have a better understanding about the wide field of personal health technology with all its possibilities for his/her career.
Additionally, the student has gained in-depth knowledge of a specific topic in the area of Personal Health Technology by carrying out an assignment with regard to a problem given by the docent. The student learns to independently (though under the supervision of the docent) understand, analyze and solve the given problem.
After the course, the student is able to …
- Give an in-depth description of a specific topic in the area of Personal Health Technology
- Analyze a complex problem in the area of Personal Health Technology
- Evaluate and effectively communicate solutions and select the best solution to the problem
- Report about the problem solving process in written form and a final presentation

The course is scheduled and involves an individual assignment on a topic within the field of Personal Health Technology. The assignment is not scheduled; the student can do the assignment at times that suit him/her best. The content of the assignment is agreed by the teacher and the student before the start of it. The aim is to obtain in-depth knowledge of a specific subject in the area of Personal Health Technology.
