TRIBOLOGY is the third course of the MATERIALS SCIENCE learning line. Attention in this course will be given to: Design with tribological knowledge Creating a product: Interaction product-tool, Making the product Energy-efficient  (during use, low friction), Lifespan (wear). The focus here is on the plastic surface (properties thereof) in interaction with the counter surface and, to a lesser degree on the bulk properties of the plastics. In summary, lectures are about basic tribology (friction and wear) and surface properties and how to measure these. Depending on the type of product chosen in this course, a lecture will be given to provide the student with specific tribology information related to the product.
