Inhoud
INTRODUCTION
The aim of this module is to introduce students to transdisciplinary collaboration. Though workshops, games, and mini-lectures, students will get familiar with key concepts and principles of working with people from various disciplinary backgrounds as well as external stakeholders. The emphasis is on developing a reflective practice and gaining an in-depth understanding of the goals and values that shape each discipline, and with that, to understand the contribution of different disciplines and knowledge systems to transdisciplinary work.

CONTENT
The following topics will be discussed:
  • Values, methods, and practices that shape disciplines
  • Theories, principles, and experiences that shape worldviews
  • Methods and tools for reflective, transdisciplinary practice

RELATION TO OTHER MODULES
This module is the first module of Transdisciplinary Master-Insert on Shaping Responsible Futures. Learnings from this module will be implemented in groupwork in all other modules in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, with a particular contribution to the Systems Thinking module. Change Making module in the 3rd quarter further builds on the learnings from the Transdisciplinary Working module through a focus on personal (vs. disciplinary) aspects of working.

FORM OF EDUCATION
Mainly practicals (e.g. ½ day workshops) combined with mini-lectures, facilitated debates, feedback sessions, and self-study hours. Apart from participating in in-class activities, students will work individually on their personal development plans and on a group assignment in which they will define and apply transdisciplinary ways of working. The assessment is on a pass/fail basis.
