In general, the learning goals will address:
  • Personal development as a Creative Technologist
  • Development of expertise in a delineated field of expertise of Creative Technology
  • Autonomous acquisition of knowledge
Additional learning goals are -individually- depicted from the perspective of the chosen subject

Educational forms

The educational form will depend on the kind of project the student will choose. Students will work individually on projects. One of the staff members (an examiner of the CreaTe program) will be appointed as coach. During the module, the students will meet the coach at least two occasions:
  1. Half–way during the module students will present their project.
  2. At the end of the module, student will present their work with a written report.
In principle, students are free to define their own challenge in consultation with a member of scientific staff. To start this module students have to follow the rules:
  • The topic/challenge must be a deepening assignment into the field of Creative Technology
  • The size of this project is at least 15 EC
  •  examiner of the CreaTe program must be found to agree to be the coach of the student.
  • A written report must be handed over to the coach for grading of the module
The student must submit a project proposal to the course coordinator or the appointed examiner of the course (prior to starting the module), that describes the- project(s).
The student will participate in a multidisciplinary project team, like the Greenteam, the Solar Challenge team, the Drone Team, or a similar large multidisciplinary project team.

Creative Technologists are essential for large multidisciplinary projects, such as the Greenteam, theSolar Challenge, and the Drone projects. At the university these projects are performed and organized by students. CreaTe students can bring in (basic) knowledge of both electronic hardware (electric circuits, electronics, sensors, control systems) or software (programming and physical computing). Most importantly CreaTe students can bring in unique expertise in the fields of design methodology (amongst others ideation, specification – requirement engineering, rapid prototyping), skills in design tools (amongst others sound engineering, visualisation tools) and the ability to function as bridges and builders between different disciplines.
