After this course, the student is able to
- Formulate research questions and goals;
- Conduct a literature study in a traffic engineering subject;
- Set up a research plan for a traffic engineering project;
- Analyse and interpret research results;
- Write a research report.

This course is aimed to develop research skills, to set up and conduct research related to a research project around a topic in traffic engineering and management chosen by the student him/herself. The research project involves a literature review, research design and, if possible, data analysis. The student is supervised and tutored by staff from the CTS department.
This course is assessed by means of an individual paper.
