- can identify, motivate and assess relevant planning problems;
- can construct mathematical models and techniques for tactical and operational planning problems;

This course deals with a selection of complex planning and scheduling problems. It covers all levels of the hierarchical planning framework: strategic planning, tactical planning, and operational scheduling.
The course deals with planning and scheduling problems from various application areas, such as healthcare and manufacturing.
Examples of methods that are discussed are ILP methods, convolution methods, and heuristics, based on the latest literature in planning and scheduling. This includes both deterministic and stochastic methods.
