Cursusdoelen
In this laboratory course students will design, implement, analyze and report on a simple experiment in the area of nanophotonics. Building upon the theoretical skills acquired in the Nanophotonics course, a plan will be made (under guidance). There is a choice of proposed experiments (extinction measurements, enhanced backscattering, diffuse transport, speckle correlations) and proposals by the students are welcome.
Inhoud
The following aspects are important:
  • Planning and design of a small experiment;
  • Safety and responsibility in laboratory work;
  • Balance between independence and seeking guidance in designing and performing experiments;
  • Acquiring a grasp of nanophotonic effects and measurement methods;
  • Maintenance of a work plan and journal with an appropriate level of detail;
  • Analysis and reporting of results.
