Aims
After following this course, students can:
  • Independently study a specialized subtopic of Interaction Technology in-depth
  • Choose an appropriate research methodology to investigate a given research question
  • Plan and carry out theoretical, empirical, experimental, or applied research
  • Find, analyze and appropriately refer to literature relevant to the research question
  • Put their own research in a wider context
  • Present the results of the research in the form of a scientific paper in English
  • Give an oral presentation on the results of the research
Content
In the Capita Selecta course, students carry out a small research project and write a conference-style paper about it. The students work independently, but with guidance from a supervisor from Interaction Technology, with more in-depth insight and carry out research leading to a scientific paper and presentation of the results. The topic can vary; it can be a specific subtopic from the research themes of the Human Media Interaction research group, or a student can propose his/her own specialized topic related to Interaction Technology (warning: this is only possible if an interested supervisor can be found).
