Learning goals
Leren om reliability (betrouwbaarheid) van systemen in te schatten, methodes toe te passen om de reliability te verhogen en tenslotte te herevalueren.
Content
This course aims at providing some understanding of the methods and architectures by means of which the reliability of digital systems can be improved. Therefore, among others, attention is paid to the various ways in which the reliability of a system can be expressed, are fault and failures classified and are a number of methods presented for improving the reliability e.g. by means of adding redundancy. Furthermore attention is paid to error correcting and detecting codes and algorithms for obtaining and maintaining data consistency.
