Aims
This course gives an introduction to stochastic operations research models and methods aiming at the recognition and solution of elementary problems.
Content
Queueing theory: exponential single and many server queues; M|G|1 model; open and closed exponential queueing networks, mean value analysis.
Stochastic dynamic programming: problems with finite and infinite horizon; value and policy iteration methods; linear programming formulation.
